ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY - Warning

Not wishing to come over all sanctimonious like, but being an ex smoker (oooh! they're the worst!) I wished that I listened to all the warnings about smoking. So my effort for this Friday's topic is a warning to you all.

ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY - Layer

Isn't it just great to come in outta the cold, into your nice cosy home & peel off the layers of clothing & hang about in your underwear? What? er, no, not me, I'm talking about Tom Cruise or Heidi Klum in the video clips below.

Inspired by Tor Weeks

Inspired by the above poster - A Field Guide to Typestaches by Director of Art, Tor Weeks I decided to try a few out. Below is a small, simple animation where I attempt to look dapper with a varied array of typestaches upon my top lip. Quite the gentlemen don't you think?

To find out about Tor & to see more of her wonderful work click on the various links to access her website & blog.

I have also put a link here to an interview she did with http://www.kaboodle.com/channel/indie/indie-blog where she talks about her inspirations & how she created her award winning poster.

ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY - Detective

Today I visited the Illustration Friday's website and the attached flash animation (quickly drafted) is my entry for this weeks word/subject/topic.

Whilst creating this little epic this tune kept niggling away inside my head so I share with you an appropriate video link to this weeks word. Enjoy!

Elephant Parade London 2010

I did this little animation yesterday afternoon after being inspired by illustrator Rebecca Sutherland's painted elephant. She was asked to design & paint a life-sized baby elephant to help raise funds for the Sumatran Orangutan Society (SOS). Rebecca's elephant will take part in The Elephant Parade London 2010, if you can't make it then visit her blog & see her work process there (it's very interesting).

How many ways can you draw an apple? #3

Here is yet another entry for 'How many ways can you draw an apple?' - for more info visit this link http://laurengentry.blogspot.com/2010/01/join-in-something-to-do.html & please take part, you'll like it.

Whitespace Solutions @ Abertay, Dundee

It's been a bit of a productive day with the old "thing-gummy-bob" blog! this is my 3rd posting today with yet more to come (mebbe).

This is a wee animation I did at Uni that I thought I'd share with you. It was done a while back for Whitespace Solutions @ Abertay, Dundee - not to be confused by Whitespace, that great design agency in Edinburgh.

ROLLER SKATE

Following on from yesterday's Skate jokes, here is another one. Hope you find this funnier!!

Skate

Here's a quick flash animation of an idea that popped into my head, had to get it done so's I'd not forget. Mind you I could have jotted it down in my "skate-chbook" I suppose.

Methinks I have had too many bad jokes from crackers over the festive period. Anyway enjoy.

ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY - Hatch

A wee bitty late as usual, but I "hatched" this idea on Friday, played with it in my head for a while & finally here it is - I hope you enjoy.

I call this style of work a "handy-mation", if you wish to see more just have a look at my blog & lemme know what you think.

My apologies in advance for the attached chicken related video(?) below

Quackers

Here's another "handy-mation" for your perusal, hope you like it & the sound doesn't drive you "quackers" cos it "quacks" me up.

Xmas Card Ideer

If anyone happens to come across this item, I welcome your thoughts & comments. Please there is a comments box, don't be shy, tell me like it is. I may get a little upset at any rude or nasty comments but that doesn't mean I'm going to come round to your house & smash your windows with a big stick, so please write something.

Skating

Here are 2 versions of a wee flash animation I was doing, I like the line drawing best, the way everything looks transparent - thought the transparency might work in colour but no.

JAWS

Mucking about again in Flash & I've come up with this - I know that it needs a lot of work done, but the idea is there. I recorded my voice on the phone doing the Jaws theme tune but can't download it. Click the Youtube clip first then my animated piece & enjoy. Anyway keep posted as a finished version may get done at a later stage.

ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY - Unbalanced

I think you have to be a little bit unbalanced to go into space, so here

is my interpretation of this weeks IllustrationFriday on Tuesday. I have
put an appropriate link to David Bowie's song Space Oddity - hope

you enjoy!

ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY - Fast

Could be doing with a rocket like this (strategically placed) to get me going on a Monday morning!

Found this related link, William Shatner singing Rocket Man - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NN3MGN899yE

Blind mouse

This was me mucking about for a wee while in Flash.

Strawberry Skateboard 2

Here's that strawberry again.

Strawberry Skateboard

Thought I would try and do an animation one of the characters from below and this is what I came up with, maybe I'll work on it a bit more, we'll see.

Balloon Boy

A quick & simple animation inspired by the recent news story 'Balloon Boy'.
